ORGANIZE

As the donations start rolling in, it is important for BSWSA to keep the donations organized. This helps members keep track of what items are still needed.

PACKAGE

Once the collection period has ended, BSWSA members get together to sort and package the donations. Hygiene items and basic necessities are used to make care packages. A blanket is also included in each care package. BSWSA also collects gently used clothing to distribute.

DISTRIBUTE

Once the care packages have been assembled, BSWSA members distribute the items at a pre-determined location. BSWSA usually seeks a community partner to assist with the distribution. In 2016, the community partner was Indy Meal Share.

COLLECT

Collection usually runs from November through January. Distribution normally occurs in February.

PROMOTE

After BSWSA members have their community partners, they work on creating flyers and promotional material to advertise the event.

Plan

BSWSA members seek out community partners as they prepare for the Blanket and Care package Drive. Community partners agree to host a drop off location, meaning they have a donation box at their business that people can donate to.
